Project on “Enlightenment of farmers on new subsidy rules in Ganja and Gazakh”.

“Spektr” Socio-Economic Researches and Development Public Union, winner of the grant competition organized by the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan together with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, launched the project “Enlightenment of farmers on new subsidy rules in Ganja and Gazakh”.

The aim of the project is to educate farmers about the new subsidy rules and their use, which has been applying since January 1, 2020, as well as the rules for submitting subsidy applications into the “Subsidy” Information System (SIS). Guidelines on using SIS, on the electronic submission of applications by farmers to SIS, as well as the provision of subsidies for crop production, including the rules of calculating subsidies for crops, crops and seeds and the relevant ratios, as well as rules for providing subsidies for cattle-breeding and other educational materials will be prepared, printed and distributed to farmers. At the same time, it is planned to prepare an explanatory video instruction on how to register in the SIS and submit applications for subsidies online.

Ensuring the development of the agricultural sector as one of the leading sectors of the non-oil sector is among the main economic priorities of the government. Important measures are being taken to create favorable conditions for the production and processing of agricultural products, which are of special play importance in the socio-economic life of the country. Thus, in order to form a new mechanism for support measures in the agricultural sector, to ensure accountability, transparency and efficient use of budget funds in this area, to simplify and digitalize appeals, the procedure for subsidizing the production of agricultural products was approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued Decree No. 759 of June 27, 2019. According to the decree, the new subsidy rules came into force on January 1, 2020.
